An absolutely awesome experience with John and the whole crew at Teen Road to Safety! A little background, my son did his first of 3 required behind the wheel lessons with another company and I was not impressed at all. That is when I was referred to Teen Road To Safety and I gave them a call. Left a message that was promptly returned. I told them about my situation with my son and his experience with the other company....John said no problem, we will take him out for an assessment to see where he is in terms of skills. After the first lesson, John spent time talking to me about my son's driving skills. He even had a skills evaluation with ratings on how my son did on each of them so we could work on certain things. On his 3rd lesson with John, he took him to the DMV on a Sunday and drove the area 3 times so that he would be comfortable for his test that week. He took notes and graded like the DMV test instructor would do during the actual test. That was great, because it gave my son a feel of what the behind the wheel test would be like. Needless to say my son passed his test yesterday scoring a 98% on his behind the wheel test! I cannot thank John and Teen Road To Safety enough for the great instruction! They offer an advanced class that my son will definitely be taking!

My son took 1 behind the wheel lesson with John. He taught him more in 2 hours then another company taught him in 4.  He was easy to understand, patient, intuitive, funny, and just a great instructor.  I would recommend this company to everyone!! Oh, and did I mention that they get to drive in a cool Mustang? Thank you John!! I feel like my son will be that much safer and confident having had you as a teacher :)

I've had two of my children instructed by Teen Road to Safety San Diego. I highly recommend this driving school above all others. They have a detailed and comprehensive curriculum per lesson that builds upon the student's abilities. The instructors are previous law enforcement which makes me feel better about having my kids in a car with a stranger. They are extremely patient and gave my children the confidence to be excellent, defensive drivers. From their classroom training to their behind the wheel instruction and advanced driving classes, this is the ONLY school I'd ever recommend for driving instruction.

We just put a third child through TRTS Behind the Wheel drivers training and could not be happier!!!  In addition, our daughter took the Advanced [all-day] Course on a Saturday and received what I felt was life-saving and life-changing instruction.  Every instructor has been prompt, professional, calm, and thorough, and I don't think my kids could have been better prepared!  Andrew has gone above and beyond answering/returning calls and scheduling in a timely manner!!!  We highly recommend TRTS!!!

I first learned about Teen Road to Safety through NextDoor. Someone was asking about driving schools and the fact that retired law enforcement officers taught the classes and behind the lessons caught my eye. My daughter took the driver training classes in Carlsbad and just finished her second behind the wheel lesson with Mr. Alberto Perez. Mr. Perez has been kind, patient, professional, and has a super interesting work history in law enforcement. This experience has not only taught my daughter good driving skills, she has heard impactful stories first-hand, and has a greater appreciation for law enforcement and the important and hard job they have.
